I had to present a wine tasting for a corporate group and I was searching for something that will satisfy those who prefer the drier style MCC with yeast and toast notes, as well as something that will satisfy those who prefer the sweeter and fruitier style MCC. My solution: the Upland Earthsong MCC. This sparkling wine is not only the best of both worlds, it is a really pleasant wine that had everyone smiling right from the start.
On the nose, you pick up the tropical fruits, some preserved fruits, hints of vanilla and toast. The first sip conveys the serious side of the wine, developing into the more fruit-forward side of the wine. It is crisp and has a good acidity, resulting in a smooth finish of cedar wood and peaches.
This is definitely one of those crowd-pleasers that will work very well for many different occasions. I highly recommend that you try this MCC! It was organically produced on a farm that is very concerned about nature and it is vegan-friendly. This wine is available from Partners in Wine.
