Ataraxia, synonymous with great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, also produces a popular Sauvignon Blanc by winemaker Kevin Grant. This cool climate Sauvignon Blanc is a great expression of its terroir and certainly worth a try if you are looking for a fresh and tropical summer drink.

In the glass, it has a pale-yellow colour with a slight green tinge. It is forthcoming on the nose, with tropical fruit and citrus, with hints of fresh grass. It is fresh and zesty on the palate, with a crisp entry. It immediately showcases its tropical fruit, with guava in the foreground, followed by lemon zest and freshly cut grass. Throughout, this wine remains fresh and ends with a stone minerality. The underpinning acidity keeps it all together well, ready for the next sip.

This wine should be served cold. It can be enjoyed on its own or with fresh food, such as salads, light pastas, chicken or fish. Ready to drink now or within the next five years. It is good value for money.
