The Creation Pinot Noir 2024 is an entry-level wine from a producer synonymous with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. While it is the bottom of the range, it overdelivers in flavour, balance and elegance. The farm was recognised as the best vineyard in the world in 2019, and this wine shows why.
In the glass, it has a beautiful light and bright red colour. The nose shows delicate rose petal and mushroom aromas. On the palate, it offers flavours of red fruit, including berries, strawberries and fresh red cherries, complemented by a medley of mushrooms. The finish is marked by a touch of ink-like minerality and a long, lingering finish.
Matured for 10 months in 10% new French oak and produced following biodynamic principles, this wine is very dry, but the natural fruit sweetness and excellent balance between alcohol, acidity, fruit and tannins make it a pleasant and approachable wine. It can be slightly chilled and enjoyed on its own or with poultry, lightly roasted meats or mushroom dishes.
