Deetlefs Signature Malbec 2019

Writer's picture: Jaco MeyerJaco Meyer

The Deetlefs Signature Malbec is part of the few signature wines that this winery offers, made in small batches (20 rows of single vineyard) and treated with special care. It has a beautiful deep dark ruby colour and is forthcoming on the nose with notes of violets, sweet spices, red and black fruits and vanilla. It has a soft entry and a good tannin structure, with predominant ripe fruits on the middle palate. The wine is well balanced and develops well, bringing forth the floral notes of the Malbec variety.

This is a really good wine that comes at a steep price. I feel that it has a good ageing potential and should be left to bottle age for at least five years before opening. This wine is available from Partners in Wine.
