The Lost Boy Fumé Blanc 2025 is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Cape Agulhas. After tasting the Lost Boy Marea Sauvignon Blanc, expectations for this wine were very high, and it delivered exceptionally well. At this price point, it represents outstanding value for money, and even the label makes a strong impression.

In the glass, it has a light golden colour. On the nose, it is very fresh and expressive, with notes of flowers, citrus and white stone fruit. On the palate, it develops beautifully with layers of citrus, lemon rind, fresh white peach and tinned yellow peach. Elderflower adds an aromatic lift, while subtle spice builds in the background. Towards the end, a gentle toffee note emerges, adding further depth. It has a good, long finish with a clear mineral character.

This is an excellent wine that stands out strongly within its category. Tasted alongside a range of South African Blanc Fumé wines, it was clearly among the best in its class. It will pair very well with spicy food, but is equally enjoyable on its own. Serve chilled, but not too cold, ideally in a slightly smaller glass. The wine has the potential to age comfortably for up to 10 years.
