The Louis Oosthuizen Chenin Blanc is, together with the Sauvignon Blanc, the two white wines that are available from this world-renowned golfer's wines, best known for one of the most impressive shots in golf history.
In the glass, this wine has a pale straw colour. It has a clean but slightly shy nose of stone fruit, tropical fruit and citrus. The entry is fresh with a crisp acidity, followed by green melon, lime, fresh peaches and honeycomb. The finish is green and herbaceous.
This wine should be served chilled well. It can be best enjoyed with baked chicken breasts with spinach and sundried tomatoes. It is ready to drink now, but I am curious to see what developments might take place in the bottle over the past 3 years or so.
