The story of Carsten Migliarina started in a friend's garage and culminated to the point where it is quite difficult to lay your hands on some of these wines, of which a large part gets exported to Namibia, Reunion, Europe, Australia, USA and China. The wine has a light yellow colour with some lime tinges. On the nose it offers a complex wine with notes of lime, nectarine, green apple and lemon with hints of vanilla. It has a soft entry and develops well on the palate, delivering what it promises on the nose: lime, lemon, gingerbread and vanilla from the French and Hungarian oak ageing. Due to the absence of malolactic conversion, the wine remains fresh and finishes off with a floral bouquet and hints of honey. This is a very exclusive wine, made in very small quantities and comes at a really good price. After I presented this wine for the first time, the majority of participants enquired about buying this wine. It is available from Partners in Wine. It is a great wine that I will highly recommend. Even if one does not like wooded Chardonnays, I will still encourage people to try it out because the wood maturation was done very subtly and effectively. The entire vintage delivered just over 2500 bottles of wine.
