Momento Chenin Blanc Verdelho 2022

The Momento Chenin Blanc Verdelho is from the award-winning young winemaker, Marelise Niemann, in Bot River. The grapes for this wine were basked-pressed and natural fermentation took place in 400-litre and 225-litre French oak barrels and aged in old oak for 10 months.

In the glass, this wine has a pale-yellow colour with a slight green tinge. It is slightly shy on the nose with stone fruit, green melon and earthiness coming through. The entry on the palate is really smooth due to malolactic fermentation and it has a moderate acidity. Quince, green melon, apricots and honey come through prominently, followed by citrus and fresh walnuts. It has a fresh and clean finish with a stone mineral note.

This wine should be served chilled and will accompany food well: chicken breasts, pasta and fish. It should be served chilled well and can be cellared for up to five years.
