The amazing part of tasting wine at a wine farm is the story of the winemakers and seeing where the magic happens. Winemaker Joseph Dhafana is one of those extraordinary people who bring his wine, story and place of inspiration to your home! This is done through the Labelinmotion app that enables you to scan the label of some of his wines and listen to his story. And Joseph has an amazing story: starting of as a gardener, promoted to barman, tasted wine for the first time on his 29th birthday, becoming a sommelier and now making amazing wines. His appreciation for the opportunity to produce wine is reflected in the word "Tinashe", meaning "God is with us" in Shona.
So, let's put the interactive label and moving story aside and focus on what is inside the bottle. This wine has a bright straw yellow colour and is complex on the nose with hints of stone fruits and minerality. This Chenin Blanc is extremely well balanced with some quince, green melon, yellow apple and honeycomb. It has a bright acidity and a long-lasting herbaceous aftertaste. The grapes are sourced from old grape vines of nearly 40 years old and matured in 2nd fill French oak barrels for 10 months and in the bottle for 3 months.
If you really want to impress your friends with a fantastic story and really great wine, pop a bottle of Mosi Chenin Tinashe Blanc in the fridge – it won't disappoint!
