Together with the First Kiss fortified Chenin Blanc, the MCC forms part of the Christine-Marie range, which is the top range of Niel Joubert wines. Some of the first responses from people who tasted this wine for the first time was a dissatisfaction with themselves that they did not discover this great wine earlier.
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay that spent 43 months on its lees to create a very elegant and smooth MCC. In the glass, you have a straw-yellow wine with fine bubbles. It is forthcoming on the nose with notes of citrus and lightly roasted almonds. It has a soft entry with soft bubbles. First, the lemon hints and fresh acidity of this wine prepare the palate for some pineapple and peach notes to follow, with subtle yeast notes and tertiary roasted nuts. It has a dry finish with tropical fruit notes.
This wine is an ideal MCC to celebrate any occasion, big or small. It can work well as a welcome drink, with starters, chicken or prawns. It comes at a good price and will certainly make a good impression. It should be served chilled well.
