Nuy Chant de Nuit NV

The Chant de Nuit (“night song”) by Nuy is a very diverse white wine that works well for food pairings. It has a light-yellow colour with a slight green tinge. It promises some dried peaches, tinned tropical fruits and fresh pineapple on the nose. It is slightly shy on the nose. On the palate, it is fresh and the fruit profiles promised on the nose are forthcoming elegantly. No particular fruits are prominent and therefore it works well with a mezze platter. I recently paired this wine with some Brie cheese and onion marmalade, and it had the necessary acidity to cut through the flavours of the cheese and marmalade and compliment it well.

If you are ever uncertain about a pairing, this wine might be the one for you. Although I focused much on how it can be used in a pairing, it can also be enjoyed on its own, slightly chilled. It is an easy-drinking wine that is not very complex, making it just right for a broad range of various occasions.
