Stettyn Family Vineyards Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2021

Writer: Jaco MeyerJaco Meyer

There are only a few producers making a still Chardonnay/Pinot Noir wine in South Africa. The combination is quite popular among many people but recently someone mentioned that they have "outgrown" this combination. For me, this was a challenge to find something new, different, and vibrant. I found it in the Stettyn Family Vineyards! Their combination of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir has a good structure that offers a pleasant balance between the two grape varieties but it is also fresh with a good acidity. I specifically offered this to the person who felt that the combination is 'outdated' and she, together with many other people, agreed that this wine surpassed all their expectations. To make things even better: it comes at a fantastic price of about R75 a bottle and with a low alcohol content of 12.5%. This is a great wine to drink on its own or with a light lunch - it is definitely worth a try!
