If you haven't found your feet between the grassy Sauvignon Blancs from Cape Town and the Green Apple Sauvignon Blancs from Elgin, the Stettyn Family Wines Sauvignon Blanc is a good place to start! This wine has a lime colour with a golden tinge and is forthcoming on the nose with hints of gooseberries, apples and some green pepper coming through. It has a crisp entry on the tongue, develops well on the palate and has a good acidity. It does not linger long and the freshness and minerality dip to a sudden earthiness, getting you ready to take another sip.
What I really like about this wine is that it is crisp, medium-bodied and not overly complicated. It comes at a very competitive price – you will struggle to find something that matches that quality in this price range. It is an ideal wine to enjoy on a summer day before a braai.
