Welbedacht Cricket Pitch 2022

The Welbedacht Cricket Pitch is one of the exciting red wines from this producer that is nestled in the slopes of the Groenberg in Wellington. It is a limited wine that has much to offer to a wide variety of red wine drinkers.

In the glass it has a deep garnet colour. It has a forthcoming nose of ripe fruit, perfume and spices. The tannin grip is firm at the beginning, followed by notes of blackcurrant, aniseed, dark chocolate and sweet oak spices. The flavours are well integrated and balanced with the acidity and alcohol of this wine. It has a long and dry finish.

This wine can be enjoyed with a ribeye steak or traditional potjiekos. It will benefit a slight chill but does not need to be decanted. Its bold and firm structure with a good balance will enable this wine to develop well over the next 10+ years.
