The Welbedacht Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a pleasant, crisp and fruity wine from Wellington – an area where we do not find much Sauvignon Blanc doing the rounds. However, this one is certainly one worth trying out!
In the glass, this wine has a pale-yellow colour with a slight green tint. It is fruity on the nose, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Although it has a good acidity, it has an elegant and rounded entry on the palate, bringing forward lemon rind, green gooseberries, hints of guava and granadilla. It has a medium finish, making it an ideal sipping wine.
This wine is best served chilled well. It will go well on its own, or with chicken dishes, pasta or light salads.
