The Welbedacht Estate Skoolblok Steen is a Chenin Blanc that makes a solid statement in the glass. It is not too light but also not too heavy, it is right in the middle – a true crowd pleaser! This wine was made from a block of Chenin Blanc that is 44 years old. That, together with the Groenberg climate and a careful hand at the cellar, contributes to a very good wine.

It has a fresh nose with much green fruit and ripe tropical notes. It delivers very well on the palate with bold and ripe fruit flavours of kiwi, baked green apples, quince and a fascinating note of prickly pear. These flavours keep on delivering with every sip and makes you linger for more with a slightly herbal finish.

This wine should be served cold and can be enjoyed on its own or with a tropical fruit-inspired salad, chicken or a cheeseboard. It is ready to drink now or within the next four to five years. It is good value for money, given the unique flavours and satisfaction that this wine delivers.
